Noah Syndergaard Says He May Have to Wait 6 Weeks to Throw

Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard, who is on the disabled list because of a partially torn right latissimus muscle, said on Saturday that he did not expect to be able to throw at all for six weeks and that he would probably need the equivalent of a full spring training regimen before he could pitch competitively again.

General Manager Sandy Alderson said that he would not project when Syndergaard would return this season, but that placing him on the 60-day disabled list could be an option. Syndergaard was initially placed on the 10-day disabled list.
